As with most new footwear, our thongs do have a wearing-in period. The reason for this is that they are made from a special foam that moulds to the shape of your feet with wear. During the wearing-in period, you might experience some discomfort as your feet will also need to adapt to the support. The best way to wear our thongs in is to only wear them for 20 minutes at a time. This will allow the footbed to gradually mould to the shape of your feet, and it will also give your body time to adapt to having support without too much discomfort. After a couple of days, the thongs will be very comfortable.

However, if the discomfort is too much, you can also soften and customise the footbed to your feet easily by using heat. This technique works incredibly well, and it usually makes the thongs very comfortable within minutes. Archeies Thongs are designed with a slightly tighter toe pole and strap than standard thongs because this helps support healthier foot function. A snug fit encourages a more natural walking pattern and allows your feet to move the way they’re meant to. That said, everyone’s feet are shaped differently. If the strap or toe pole feels too tight or causes irritation, it’s very easy to adjust. Simply stretch the strap and toe pole gently with your hands until they reach your preferred level of comfort.

1. To stretch the toe pole, simply stretch it with your hands and continue to do this until it is comfortable.

2. If you try the thongs back on and the toe pole is still uncomfortable, you may have to increase the force of your stretching and repeat this process multiple times until it is comfortable. Don’t be afraid to give them a good pull if they really are too tight and uncomfortable.
